The Cream Room got its name because originally, it was thought to be the old milking parlour of the farm. Later, it transpired that the farmer used to bring the pregnant cows there to give birth to their young.
Years past & the farm became just arable & so a shell of a building just stood there full of potential.
An eager group of people who wanted to start a recording studio approached the farmer & asked if they could build one. The farmer said yes & after a few months of blood, sweat & tears, most of the studio was finished.
There was an addition to the original building in the form of a WC & kitchen. Within the shell there were now 2 rooms specifically designed to reduce sound reflection, also, they were apart enough for the best separation possible. The observation window between the control room & the live room consist of 4 panes of acoustically treated glass. There are also 4 panes of glass per ‘outside’ window. The gap between the 2 rooms & the outer shell is filled with blocks of polystyrene for insulation. The doors & even the hinges were specifically designed by people who had a keen interest in the Studio.
Sessions started flooding in & some of the work to the studio was never finished until very recently.
All that is left to is say ‘thank you’ to the people who made this happen in 1998 & through out the last 10 years.

A heartfelt thank you & acknowledgement goes to:-

Mike Coombs, Ken Coombs, Victor Cross, Frank Sapsed, all the brickies & electricians, Rob Clydesdale, Martin Lumsden, Paul Davidson, Lindsay Weight, Keith Harding, Tony Sharpen (R.I.P.) Rosie Mayer, George Hargreaves, Ellis & Julia Wayman, Captain Nemo (you know who you are) & everybody so far who has recorded at The Cream Room in the last decade & the next...

"When you are making and recording music you need to find an appropriate space that looks after your creative, emotional and recreational needs! Speaking as someone who has conceived, written and recorded a whole album at The Cream Room, I can say that all the bases were covered! The sound is great the feel of the place is homely and the end result was some of the best work I have done!"
